About Sarah

Sarah’s determination to fight for fairness began when she navigated an EEOC discrimination charge by herself — an experience that inspired her to help others in the same position.

During law school at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, she led the Midwest Innocence Project Student Organization and the Board of Barristers, mentoring future trial lawyers and advocating for the wrongfully convicted. She earned the Houdek Pro Bono Legal Services Award for completing the most volunteer hours in her class.

Sarah’s background includes employment law, criminal defense, civil litigation, and public defense, along with a clerkship under Judge Bough in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Before becoming an attorney, she served as a police officer and worked more than 15 years in the service industry, experiences that deepened her understanding of workplace challenges. Sarah also taught trial advocacy as an Adjunct Professor at UMKC School of Law until 2025, helping future lawyers advocate with courage and integrity.
